Ukrainian Association for Youth Co-operation “Alternative-V”
- is a non-political, non-profit non-governmental youth organisation, founded in 1992. Alternative-V was created to facilitate co-operation among youth organisations, to promote active citizenship among Ukrainian youth through their involvement into programmes in the fields of education, culture, ecology, historical heredity protection and helping disadvantaged people. Alternative-V wants to contribute to development of more peaceful society, to the decrease of social injustice. The Association obtained national status in 1999.
The main programmes in which Alternative-V is involved are:
- organising international youth volunteer workcamps in Ukraine;
- co-ordinating international youth volunteer exchanges (short-term, mid-term and long-term);
- organising seminars, trainings, conferences, sudy tours on both national and international levels;
- co-ordinating work of the local volunteers on social projects.
Alternative-V is:
- member of the Alliance of European Voluntary Service Organisations (http://www.alliance-network.eu/) ;
- member of CCIVS /UNESCO (Co-ordination Committee for International Voluntary Service);
- official partner organisation of Service Civil International (SCI)(http://www.unesco.org/ccivs/);
- founding member of Eastlinks (co-operation platform for voluntary service organisation in Eastern and Central Europe)(http://www.icye.org/);
- partner of ICYE (International Cultural Youth Exchange).
